Breaking News!!!
CEB WANANCHI is entering an exiting new phase in its 18th year of providing state-of-the-art African solutions to the Southern Africa corporate world. It is with great excitement and anticipation that we announce our merger with SCSA (Sonke Computer Services Africa) and CEB WANANCHI SYSTEMS. These three organizations have more synergy that just the name (Wananchi = for the people, Sonke = we are in this together), and believe that together we can and will add significant value to our customer base. Therefore, although you will see the same faces, commitment and all the other benefits, it will not be business as usual; it will be a whole lot better!
CEB Wananchi Technologies (Pty) Ltd. is a black owned private company and is the happy result of a marriage between CEB Networks (Pty) Ltd. and Wananchi Technologies (Pty) Ltd.
Wananchi Investment Corporation is an Empowerment Company that was started in 1997 under the leadership of Mr. Khehla S. Mthembu (Pty) Ltd, who is a well-known business leader in South Africa.
The CEB “group” of companies started in 1981 in the days of mainframe and midrange computers only. Personal Computers and Microsoft were still to come.
Over the years, as technology has changed continuously, the group has mirrored these changes in many ways. Autonomous units operate in different areas of technology. There is a healthy interdependence between the various companies, yet an independence which enables each entity tp expand or contract separately. Whilst obviously trying to promote the other companies in the group, there is still a healthy relationship and cooperation with other companies which could be considered as competitors.
Finance, Admin, Human Resources and accommodation are centralised, shared facilities within the group which has fluctuated in various ways over the years. Turnover peaked at just over R200 million and with a total staff, in more than twelve locations countrywide, of around 650 people.
CEB has business dealings with most large corporates in South Africa including Standard Bank, De Beers, IBM, SPAR, Datavia and Impala to name but a few.
